Pusher Centrifuges
We are manufacturing pusher centrifuges primarily used for the purpose of separating solids from liquids. Owing to its high efficiency and smooth operation, it is widely demanded in diverse industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals and Effluent treatment plants. The working principle of the pusher centrifuge is discussed below.
Working Principle
The pusher centrifuge is continuously operating filtration equipment consisting of two rotating baskets, the outer basket and the inner basket. These baskets are fitted with axially slotted sieves and both rotate at very high speed in order to induce desired centrifugal force. During this rotation, the inner stage basket reciprocates axially inside the outer basket.
The slurry is continuously fed in to the inner basket through the fixed feed pipe. The rotating feed distributor spreads the slurry evenly on the sieves of the inner basket. Sequentially, major part of the liquid passes through the sieves because of centrifugal force. This centrifugal force gets developed owing to the high speed rotation of the baskets leading to the solids cake formation.
As the inner basket reciprocates axially, the solids cake is pushed across the slotted sieves, due to the reciprocating motion of the inner basket, onto the outer stage basket sieves. The capillary and inter granular moisture gets removed due to cake opening during the transition from the inner stage to the larger diameter outer stage. Finally the partially dried solids leave the centrifuge through a discharge casing.
Material of Construction
Pusher centrifuges is made from a variety of series 300 stainless steels, Alloy 20 stainless steel or any other corrosion resistant material, as required in the process.
